Below we present a hand-picked selection of seven VTech toys that seamlessly integrate playing with learning. VTech learning toys are designed with bright colors and a design that attracts children instantly. Today’s kids are amazingly smart and such toys help them to even increase their abilities without apparent effort.
Granted, some VTech toys are controversial as some parents have strong opinions about the features and quality of the toys they want for their kids. Where we feel the disagreement is strong we have noted it in our reviews. We have selected VTech learning toys for kids ages 6 months to 9 years. The majority of them are for ages 3 to 8 years and we indicate the recommended age at the beginning of each review. Enjoy!
1. From a Crawler to A Walker with VTech Learning Walker
Designed for 9 months to 3 years, your little one will greatly enjoy learning to walk with this Vtech first steps baby walker and pushing it all over the house. This toy has already become very popular because it has been instrumental in helping many babies to walk. It is on its way to become a classic as other VTech toys.
Some buyers complain that the wheels slide on hard floors, but in fact there is a rubber seam on the rear wheels to prevent this. Also, the wheels have two settings: one mode is free riding and the second one almost locks the rear wheels although without rendering them totally fixed.
The VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker is sturdy and features two modes, a musical and an educational one, and the toys on it make noises and light up. There are lots of buttons that babies love to push and the base is ninety degree square so it’s hard to tip over.
2.VTech Alphabet Train, a Fun Way to Learn the Alphabet
The manufacturer recommends it for kids ages 1 to 3 years, but we believe it’s more appropriate for children from 18 months specially if they are small for their age. The VTech Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train trains infants muscles and helps them develop coordination. Pre-kindergarten children will learn the alphabet, numbers and colors too.
The VTech Train combines movement and education very well. It has three modes of play: floor play, walker and ride-on mode. It comes with thirteen letter blocks, a book and a motion sensor that activate sound when moving.
3.Dream VTech Smartwatch for Young, Smart Photographers
Created for kids ages 3 to 9, this VTech toy features an amazing array of features: a camera with photo effects and a video camera, a touch screen, four learning games and fifty watch faces, a timer and alarm clock and more. The display can be analog or digital and it includes a rechargeable battery.
The VTech Smartwatch is even splash proof (although not waterproof) and sturdy enough to withstand typical bumps, although a few parents say the opposite thing and complain it broke after a drop! Overall everyone is extremely happy with this Smartwatch VTech toy; after all, kids love watches, don’t they?
4. With the VTech Toy Phone Your Baby Won’t Take Your Smartphone
Made for kids ages 6 months to 3 years, this bright toy phone features a touch screen with twelve pretend apps for playing and touching. If your child is always asking or taking your (real) smartphone, getting a VTech toy phone will solve your problem!
Whether positive or negative, parents are very passionate about toys and I dare say some of them are a little bit too demanding. The VTech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone is extremely affordable and engages most children for hours. Babies can call home, their plush animals, their friends… even check the weather!!! But if you are expecting a real smartphone for the price, you’ll be disappointed!
5. VTech Kidizoom Camera Uncovers Many Little Photographers and Videographers
Designed for kids ages 3 to 8, the VTech Kids camera introduces your kids to taking pictures and video recording with audio. After a few blurred photos they will learn (with your help) how important it is to stay still while taking a snapshot. This is a stunning real camera that can store about eight hundred photos and is PC and Mac compatible. It can also connect to the VTech Learning Lodge for additional apps and features. It includes a photo editor with lots of effects that will delight your kids.
The VTech Kidizoom Camera Connect camera fits nicely into little hands and the sides of the camera are coated with rubber for protection and easy grip. It also has a dual view finder, which is ideal for little ones that can’t focus out of one eye yet. Most kids learn quicly that the house button takes them to the navigation menu and the different camera options. The VTEch Camera pink or blue is lightweight and you can take it anywhere without stress.
6. Kids Develop Creativity And Reading Ability with VTech MobiGo 2
Recommended for kids ages 3 to 8, the VTech MobiGo 2 adds a motion sensor and a microphone to the first MobiGo version. Children can now choose among four playing modes. There is a colorful touchscreen that little ones can control with their fingers or the included stylus; a built-in motion sensor for playing games by tilting the device from one side to another; a microphone and slide-out keyboard that makes them familiar with the Qwerty layout.
The VTech MobiGo 2 Touch Learning System is also an e-reader, a photo album and viewer, and an art studio. The toy includes three VTech MobiGo games but you can purchase additional games online at the VTech Learning Lodge. Most buyers of VTech MobiGo 2 are happy with the purchase, however it remains a controversial toy as there are several complaints about its quality. Parents that had a bad experience point out that the toy is actually very good and that their children enjoyed it very much while it lasted, but that VTech should make an effort to make it more durable.
7. User-Friendly Tab Offers Lots of Fun and Playful Education to Kids
Designed for kids ages 3 to 8 and available in blue and pink, the VTech Innotab Max is a safe tablet children figure out very quickly. The touch screen is more responsive than the previous version, the screen size is larger and the resolution and the processors have also improved. The parental controls are very effective and it includes several fun apps, so that you don’t have to start purchasing more right away. The Max Vtech Tablet is sturdy and it is a nice detail that they attached a string to the stylus so kids don’t lose it at once.
The VTech InnoTab Max Kids Tablet gives kids access to a growing library of over 650 learning cartridges and educational android apps. Besides, VTech Kid Connect allows children to send and receive pictures, drawings and voice messages to and from Android and iPhone smartphones. And with the built-in handle kids can take their tablet anywhere; the cover protects the InnoTab VTech tablet and the case can be used as a stand.
